Too hot to cook tonite. Lots of outdoor seating right on the lake. Great bartender inside. Last time the service was slow but you are on a lake with live music so waiting is just fine! No room at the outdoor bar. Pizza and cheese steak last time. I had some delicious steamed clams and a side salad that was very fresh and generous portion. Service still slow but they have live music, beautiful views and decent food. Don't go when you are in a hurry and you will be happy!

Horrible service , drinks took 20 mins, rude servers, Food was ehhhhh. Food was cold , no utensils no condiments

Was told a half an hour then The sat a party of two that was behind us ... Also we were sitting at the. Bar went to smoke and the bartender. Threw our drinks out when we told her I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone

We didn't sit on the patio because there were showers on and off all day but still had an amazing view of the lake. We started with wings and clams that were awesome! I had the half-baked of ribs which were very good. My wife had the linguini in clam sauce which was a little on the dry side but still tasty. My daughter had the mac & cheese and ate half the wings. We ordered them dry with sauce on the side just in case they were too spicy but they were served with mild sauce. Our server (never got her name) was apologetic and offered to bring another batch for my daughter, but after a quick taste test, a little ranch dressing cooled the heat. I highly recommend a visit to Nicks if your in the Poconos/Lake Harmony area.

Absolutely terrible food and service. Waited over an hour for food for 3 adults and 4 children who had simple orders such as a soup, chicken fingers and nachos. There was a bone in my pulled pork burrito and straw wrappers in my sister's nachos. Under staffed and just slow. People eating behind us came before us and still didn't have their food. We only got it because we complained. Usually I'll wait a bit but with hungry kids, and an infant too waking up. Way too long. Server was annoyed and rude too whenever she finally came by too. It's a shame too because it's a beautiful lake view but terrible!!!!! Keep driving or just stay at the bar for some drinks! I wouldn't even give it this place 1 star!

I've been here a number of times and I'll agree with just about all the reviews posted: it's pretty much hit or miss. Last night we had a fantastic, friendly, and attentive waitress (Kristin?), there was a good band playing, and beautiful sunset over the lake. Appetizers were out quick, entrees a little slower. Refills on our drinks were quick. Food was fine, about what we've come to expect in the area. Go here for the view on nice evening....sit back, relax, and enjoy the live music.

We have been here many times on our trips to the Lake Harmony area, and we have always had a decent experience here. This time was probably the best experience so far. The service left a little to be desired, but the food was good. I had the Cheesesteak with fries, and my wife had the bacon cheeseburger. We split the two for a little variety, and both were great and hit the spot! The cheesesteak was huge, with plenty of meat spilling out. The burger was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. The Oktoberfest draft beer was cold, and the prices overall were very fair. We sat inside because it was far too chilly to sit on the outside deck. If the weather is warm and the deck is open, the view cannot be beat. A lot of times on the weekends in the summer they will have live music, which is a nice added bonus. In summary, always a decent meal. We always seem to come back every time we visit the Lake Harmony area. Give it a try.

Very good food and service just be carful of the smokers if you eat out on the deck. Clams in white sauce the best very full of clams. The view is beautiful especially at sunset.
(4)J F.
Terrible food, lousy service. Nice view on the porch and not a bad spot to drink a beer, but forget this place if you want anything to eat. We waited more than an hour for lunch on a moderately busy day. The nachos had a large hair in them. Burrito, chicken wings, crab cake sandwich were all bad.

When checking in with the hostess, I told her that we were a party of 5, and she said the wait would be 15 minutes. Twenty minutes later, she seated a family of 8 before us, who did not have a reservation, who came in after us. They seemed to be a little pushy, and hanging around close to the hostess stand, and asking her a couple of times about the wait. After waiting for 45 minutes, she told us that the kitchen was backed up, and the wait would be another hour. She suggested we go to their sister restaurant down the street, Shenanigans. This was doubly frustrating because there were empty tables that still needed to be bussed, right in front of us.

Horrible experience! Went in at 9pm on a Sunday night, got food on our table at 10:30pm! Waitress got a major attitude problem and everything just took an extra longer time, naturally. Nice scenic view won't compensate for such bad service, and the mediocre food didn't help either.
(1)Ray M.
The food was ok. We had the Clam soup and it was ok buy a little salty. Also the Clam strips and they were decent. What I didn't like was the table next to us totally destroyed the mood. We were sitting out on the deck watching a beautiful sunset and you could easily tell they were from New York as that is quite common for this area. The kids were loud and unruly and the adults just loud. So come try this place if your in the area, but be careful as to where you are seated.
(3)Chris C.
Food is average and service is below average. Wait times can be very long depending on the time of year you come in. As a local I don't go there. It's more for tourists and people that have vacation homes in the area.
(3)Kelly M.
Do not waste your money. The table was dirty and sticky. Waitress was okay but seemed annoyed with us and was eating her lunch in front of us. Awkward. All our drinks had a weird after taste and the food was indescribable. Crab cake looked like a ball of tuna fish . I asked for my burger to be medium well and it was bleeding when I got it. Needless to say I will not be going back to nicks lake house unless it's for a bottled beer and to sit out on the deck.

Good Place Good food and Great Staff! Great Location on the Lake sweet views!

Sat outdoors on a nice night. No bugs bothered us. Ordered drinks, an app to share and food. My quesadilla was really good (and not greasy like some places who cooked them in butter), someone else got a wrap which was very flavorful and the Stromboli was huge. Will return'

We ate dinner here at Nick's while in the area. The place isn't high-scale - we asked for water with our meal and we got a pitcher of water with 4 plastic cups, which we poured ourselves. We ordered a full rack of baby back ribs, a bowl of clam chowder, and a cheesesteak. The clam chowder was a little too salty, but good otherwise. The baby back ribs was a good portion with a very nice, slightly sweat BBQ sauce. It was too much sauce for my wife, so she scraped some off, but enjoyed the ribs. The cheesesteak was very good with lots of perfectly cooked meat and just the right amount of cheese. Some cheese lovers may want a little extra cheese, but I loved it. The Our meals came with freshly made french frieds and chips. Both were good, but I especially liked the chips. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. If we're in the area again. we'll go back.

Why I stopped in this place? Whyyyy??. if I had read first the rewiws before entering I would have saved my self and my family . What bad experience! lets forget that we waited 40 minutes for burgers in a diner room practically empty but meat burgers smelled rotten, they were grease, oil dripping from all sides as if they were deep fried. OMG , so disgusting .Avoid the chips of the house are hard as rocks. Bleaaack

What a nightmare. First was the wait to be seated, we were fine with that considering it was a prime vacation time, but it then took the waitress another 15 minutes to even say hello, then another 10 before we got our drinks ( we had to flag down another waitress to get them) . Our waitress was incompetent, did not put in our appetizers, we got the manager and he agreed that it was unacceptable that it had been 57 minutes since we had been seated and still did not get any food. When the waitress finally appeared again, we asked for bread, she said " I guess so, maybe one of the meals comes with one." We got the manager again after seeing a table that was sat 30 minutes after us get their appetizers. He went and got my sons butter noodles ( we said light butter and was swimming in butter) and my wife's spinach dip ( cold and inedible). I asked our waitress for a refill ( first in an hour) she brought me coke when I was drinking iced tea , then she continued to argue with me about how that's what I asked for. Asked for manager again..,, he went and got our entrées. Wife's crab cake ....cold. My steak.....cold ( I ate mine because at this point I was considering stealing food off other tables because I was so hungry.) Needless to say it was a horrible experience, the manager comped us 50$ out of $70 and gave my wife and son dessert . Nice gesture though we shouldn't have had to pay anything considering nothing was right ( other than dessert). Thanks for ruining our last night on vacation .

Have been coming here for years always just ok nothing special except the outside view on the lake! After a few drinks you forget about the mediocre food and slow service! I'm on vacation so I just enjoy the band and lake view on a Saturday night in the summer.I have high standards as I enjoy good food and I'm a good cook myself!Food is just ok but the lake at sunset is worth it!
(3)Lake J.
Great view, great pizza, bad service. Our left over pizza did not deserve a box in the eyes of our waitress... So, it was folded in thirds by our waitress with her bare hands and shoved in a white styrofoam to go box... Needless to say, the tip reflected our joy.

Went in late afternoon on a Sunday in April so needless to say it was not packed. Waited forever for the food. During the wait watched as another party was complaining about their wait as the waitress told them " Iam getting to you I am very busy and unless you want your food frozen" when we finally received our food it was good not great ... Nothing to write home about. If I return it will be for drinks and music ONLY!!!
(1)Jan G.
Great location and wonderful views of the lake when you sit outside. The hostess had an attitude, service was decent and food is mediocre. The only thing decent we ordered was their burgers. I ordered their crab cake patty, that was frozen and still cold in the middle. Their fish tacos (2 in order) was frozen and cold as well.
(2)Jen K.
Waited 45 minutes for a table, although it was empty. Waited over an hour for our food. Not as though the server looked busy either. Food was okay , would've been better if we didn't have to wait so long.

The menu is kind of pricey. However, unlike what many others have experienced, my waitress is very friendly and attentive. To be fair, I come here during slow hours, around 3 PM. The food is good too. I enjoy New England Clam Chowder, Mini Crab cake, Buffalo Wings and Prime Ribs. I must say, beautiful view so try to get a table on the deck outside. Also, you can search all you want but there are really not many restaurants in this area. Consider that, Nick's is not bad at all.
(3)Donna D.
New England Clam Chowder was good and everyone loved their burgers especially the one with fig jam! Burger Brioche bun was toasted really nice - crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Had the Greek salad - potion was a good size but dressing was so thick it could not spread easily on the salad. French fries were really good!
(4)Jennifer C.
Awful service. We can't comment on the food because after and hour and a half we never received it. The server was rude, spoke back to us and overall nasty. Open our arrival another party walked out because no server approached them for 25 minutes. Lake Harmony is a resort town and Nicks really should learn that without clientele coming to their establishment they can't survive. They need to know that in a service industry...they need to provide service.

Stopped here for a late dinner this past Saturday. My fiance and I were seated and greeted by our waitress very quickly. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. It is a fairly large restaurant with a bar and outdoor seating. It boasts a beautiful view of the lake (hence the name). We shared an appetizer of beef tenderloin tips with a jalapeno jelly. It was delicious and the meat was cooked perfectly. I was a little confused about the jalapeno jelly. It was more of a steak sauce with a nice heat to it and a garnish of jalapeno rings. It was extremely tasty, but it wasn't a jelly. Next, I had the salmon with a red pepper sauce and rice and broccoli. It was perfect, no complaints here. My fiance had the fish and chips. His dish was a bit disappointing. Both the fish and the french fries were soggy. The batter also tasted like corn dog batter, so it honestly tasted more like a corn dog than fish. It also came with a side of coleslaw that really was nothing more than cabbage and a ton of mayonnaise. That's all you could taste. He had a martini and I had a special holiday martini which tasted like a york peppermint patty. So good. Our waitress was a bit slow with the second round of drinks, and she was a bit flustered at times. Another waitress jumped in to help her, which I thought was very nice. They were both great! I would come back, but it probably won't be for a while, I would like to try somewhere else first.

Food was very good...however the service was awful. ..waited about 30 min before someone came up and asked if we needed a drink. .considering how most tables were empty there was no excuses. .an hour passed before food was on the plate. ..workers walking around not helping anyone but the people they clearly knew. The view was definitely nice on the back deck for dinner. Besides the hostess no one seemed to care otherwise. ..if the food was not good this would be a 1/5
(3)Ann B.
Food was just decent but service was sub par. She didnt provide silverware and forgot one entree. Soda/pop was served in 6oz glasses and cost $2.45 with little refill because she wasn't around for rechecks. Not a place we will come back to in our stay. Too much money spent on basic bar food. No owner was around checking.
(2)Angelina E.
We've been here about 4 times and I don't know why, but we keep forgetting NOT to come back. All their sandwich/burger buns are always stale. The chips accompanied with them are hard and overcooked. We've tried a few pasta dishes and soups and they were all ok, but nothing that stands out or you want to go back for. The only thing nice about the place is the view of the lake. The owners really need to revamp their menu and look for a new source for where they get their breads and ingredients. There's soooo much potential for this place, especially because of their location and size of the restaurant. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of options in the area, so I guess the owners don't really care about being the "best" place in the area, and just wants to fill seats, and they probably rely on all the booze they sell to keep them in business.

Good, reasonably priced and friendly staff. Played it simple and got a Bacon Cheeseburger. If you're up at Lake Harmony and looking for some good food and leave with your wallet intact I highly recommend Nick's.

Great location with wonderful views of the lake. Probably one of the few positives of my dining experience at Nick's. Upon arrival we were met promptly by a hostess who asked for our seating preference and was more than happy to accommodate our request. Our meal went down hill at this point. Mind you we went for an early dinner so the restaurant wasn't too crowded yet our waitress kept disappearing not only that--at the end of the service she was rather snippy and borderline rude about us using a gift certificate- we received a lesson on gift certificate using etiquette 101. We waited quite a while for our food (not offered as much as a piece of bread though we did see other tables with rolls-- apparently you have to request bread?!) my entree the pork tenderloin was indelible- completely dry and rather tasteless my fiancé did enjoy his salmon though and our two kids did enjoy their entree (both got the kids meal filet mignon) this place is only getting two stars- the kids steak was good and the view of the lake was great.
(2)J F.
Pros - location, deck, food was pretty good Cons - Service If this was based solely on the view from the patio and the food, it would be a 4/5 star review. My steak was excellent, seared Ahi tuna steak was as well. Cheesesteak portion was very generous, even the wings were good. View of the lake from the patio with the breeze is very relaxing. Service needs serious work. Our server treated us with a mild neglect. Drinks went empty for stretches, requests for extra sauces and napkins were ignored. She also couldn't be bothered to list off their available beers. Having worked as a server in the past is the only reason she got 10% Funny how my gripe on the service isn't an isolated issue, fix that and you'd have a real winner.

Went here for dinner with a few friends over the weekend. After giving the hostess a hard time (calling several times to confirm our reservation, changing our reservation time, telling them we would be 30mins late and actually arriving on time), we were still seated five minutes after arrival. At first, the service was kind of slow. It took forever for the server to greet us but after he finally got to our table, it was smooth sailing. Although it took a little bit for our food to be served (granted there were 8 of us) she gave us complimentary chips to help time pass. The chips were sooo good! Don't know if I was really hungry or if it was actually good but everyone at the table would agree they were pretty darn good kettle chips (with a ranch dipping sauce). I ordered a mushroom cheesesteak. Unfortunately every additional topping is an extra 1.50 (including fried onions which completely bummed me out because I feel fried onions is a key ingredient to any delicious cheesesteak!). I guess it should be expected seeing we're in the mountains and all and almost everything is overpriced. Needless to say, I was very satisfied with my meal. Tasty fries! Decent burgers. Yummy cheesesteak! Great service.

First time I went was just for drinks. Friendly bartender, she was great . The spinach dip was great with the warm bread that comes with it, and the crab cake was very good too, with no fillers which is amazing for crab cakes these days .. On a sour note .. went in again a week later with boyfriend. the nice young lady bartender was leaving and nobody seemed to be behind the bar ! The place was empty and there was 2 men sitting at end of bar.. finally after the girl gave me the menu for dinner (we were going to eat dinner at the bar and get entrees and appetizers.) The man took forever to get up, he came behind bar got himself a drink and sat back down. I thought he was a customer because was sitting at the bar when we arrived!! Finally he sees me getting impatient and he gets up and comes over like he was doing us a favor.. he never even made eye contact and was rude as can be saying 'what do you want' .. I hinted that suggestions would be great, as I never had an entree there , but he could have cared less. This man had NO BUSINESS being a bartender with his miserable personality. I did not like his apparent attitude as we did nothing wrong so we asked for the check and left. There was no way I wanted to see this man and deal with him for an entire meal at the bar. We chose the bar to watch sports. Aside from him, the place seems great. The young girls are sweet, they need to lose this middle aged miserable man and the place's business would probably increase in my opinion. I will go back afternoon hours another time to try the food and hope he's not there .

What can I say about Nick's. Well it's a place. That's for sure. Other than that it blows. Rarely would I ever find a place so bad I would give it a one star but on this occasion they earned it. This joint not only revealed it's true culinary secret and failed once but TWICE. My wife and stepson and I went for lunch on a Saturday this weekend. We were seated and ordered drinks. I had ordered a Guiness and when it arrived, the frumpy waitress brought out a pint glass so sloppily poured the head was spilling entirely down the sides of the glass onto the table. I had to grab a napkin from another table to sop up the mess and clean it up. For lunch my wife and I both ordered the caprese sandwich which consisted of a large portabella mushroom, onion, and cheese. My wife and I took a bite and thought it decent enough. Oh was I mistaken. My next bite was met with horrid disgust. The sandwich was stone cold the closer you got to the center. Was...was this...microwaved? I took the bun off and saw the cheese on the inside was as solid as it would be in the package. I put my finger on the mushroom and couldn't believe how cold it was. I asked another passing waitress if this sandwich was supposed to be served cold. I was starting to doubt myself. She said no and asked if I wanted to send it back. I said sure and she took it and placed a finger on it and said wow that's really cold. After a few minutes our waitress arrived with another sandwich. I took a bite hoping all errors had been corrected but to my dismay IT WAS COLD AGAIN! What is wrong with this place? I sent it back and didn't want anything else. They took my lunch off of the bill thankfully but from there apparent lack of interest our waitress could care less. It was almost as if she wasn't surprised. Avoid this place like the morgue.

We stopped there looking for new places to eat in the area. We like the Poconos, and always have at least a fall trip to see the change of colors. We tried two other nearby places (Louie's Prime and Shenanigans) and they were both really good. We needed a third place so we tried Nicks. The location looked nice. It was cool outside, so I had a long sleeved cotton shirt on. When I leaned my arms on the table, then lifted them, the tables were so sticky the fabric clung to the table. Crumbs on the table.........if what you can see is dirty, I wonder about the condition of the kitchen and food prep areas I couldn't see. The place smelled of mildew. We were seated near the door that leads to the outside deck. Probably too many wet feet in the summer and insufficient dry time. The rugs were also pretty dirty. When I eat out, I expect the place to at least be clean. Soap and water are cheap commodities. I saw two parties come in, sat for a few minutes, then got up and left. I should have followed their lead. The service was slow, but I could have lived with that. The waitresses were older ladies who probably lived in the area. I would not have complained if that was all that was wrong. The food? The prices were not cheap, and I've had better quality at roadside diners. I ordered Ravioli. The menu gave no description so I assumed it was ravioli in tomato sauce. My dinner came out in a bowl, my ravioli submerged in a white wine sauce that was trying to imitate the white sauce clams and linguine come in. It was a really bad imitation. I ordered a slice of Reese's Peanut butter and chocolate pie to take back to my room. If it got any smaller, I would have needed a jeweler's eye piece to see it. My other half ordered 'pan seared crab cakes'. They were 24 bucks. For the price I expected them to be decent quality. It looked like they opened a box of Mrs. Paul's Crab Cakes and served them. Lots of filler. We're not picky people, and wouldn't give a bad review to Nicks if there was a small problem or two. But between the dirty tables, the sub par food, the slow service, and the fact that I became ill with a stomach problem later that evening, it wasn't worth the money or the time. They have a nice location. If they'd clean their place up, start serving food quality that matches the prices, and get some younger helpers for the old gals waiting on the tables, it could be a nice place to eat. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be willing to try them again, even if it was free.

We went here several times during our week long stay in Lake Harmony this past week and we really like it here. The best part of Nick's is sitting on the lake side dock enjoying a cold one, while the kids feed the ducks. That was mostly what our visits consisted of. We did get take-out pizza one night, which was very good and another night we dined in. We did wait about 40 minutes for a table, because we wanted to sit on the deck and then after ordering, (I think our 80 year old waitress was deaf??) we waited at least 45 minutes for our food. Needless to say, we were all ready to eat whatever they put in front of us!! The food is decent - no huge complaints, but the service/speed is severely lacking. Atmosphere is what Nick's is all about.

Our experience at Nick's Lakehouse was absolutely HORRIBLE! We waited quite a while for our waitress to greet us once we were seated, but we are patient people so it was no big deal at that point. The waitress was not friendly and when I asked what beer selection they had (was not listed on the menu) she said "regular beer, but nothing on tap cause it's all foam." Ummmm ok. My husband ordered a Miller Lite and it was from the tap- weird. The glass had dirt and hair on the rim. I am not joking. It was taking up about an inch of the rim. How did the bartender or our waitress not see that?!? Our apps took about 30 minutes after we ordered them. The spinach and artichoke dip was a bowl of mush with soggy pita. I had to return my cup of New England Clam Chowder because it was very thin and yellowy and tasted like it was very old. That reminds me, when I asked what the soup of the day was, the waitress said "we don't have one because we ran out yesterday." Ummmmm it's called soup of the "day" not soup of yesterday! Then it went from bad to worse. Our waitress was walking slowly around the restaurant mumbling how she couldn't keep up with the amount of tables she had (not that many t all- the place was basically empty). When the hostess sat a new table, the waitress was exasperated and in view of all of the customers. It was really uncomfortable. Then we waited and waited and waited and waited. After over an hour after ordering, we still had no entrees and then the waitress came over and said, "it will be at least another seven minutes for your dinner but I can't promise anything." With a toddler close to bed time and a sub par experience thus far, we left without getting a dinner and stopped for Wawa on the way home (which was delicious). On our way out, I went up to the bar and asked to speak to a manager. The bartender said there was no manager on site. Wow. Needless to say we will NEVER go back and I hope no one else will either!
